Risk Definition
|
Risk is an arbitrary random element, i.e. a mapping from
a probability space into a measurable space. Examples
are: random variable, random vector, random process, random set.

|
|
Risk measure is a mapping from risks space into (partially)
ordered set. Often risk measure is a functional,
i.e. a mapping from risks space into reals. Other examples
are: random variable as a risk measure for random process,
Set-at-Risk for random set.

Risk Assessment
|
Risk assessment is a process of construction a mathematical
model of risk, e.g. constructing a random variable as a
sequence of its values and their probabilities.
